Liverpool Ladies and Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala
along with four others for the maiden edition of the 2015 BBC Women footballer
of the Year award.
FIFA World Player of the Year, Brazilian Marta Vieira da
Silva,Spain's VerĂ³nica Boquete, German Nadine Kessler, and Kim Little of
Scotland are other candidates to nominated for the individual award.
The reigning African Woman Footballer of the Year is the
only African nominated following her superb form at the 2014 U-20 Women's World
Cup in Canada and the 2014 Africa Women Championship in Namibia as well as in
Rivers Angels' double domestic title win.
According to the organisers of the award, the winner will be
decided by fans to increase their chances of winning the award, who have until
Monday, May 11 to vote for their choice.

The winner of the first Women's Footballer of the Year by
